2022 has been a busy year for restaurants in Hampshire County! While we said goodbye to some old favorites, we also welcomed an exciting and eclectic group of new eateries to the area. From vegan cafes to wine bars, there is something for everyone in Hampshire County. Stop by one of these new restaurants on your next visit, and start finding your next favorite spot.
Easthampton's Calico is something of a local miracle: when longtime local favorite Coco closed their doors, the staff decided they weren't quite ready to give up the ship. Instead, they regrouped, rallied, and reopened in the same space under a new name. Not everything is the same — they bring their own flavors — but the legendary buttermilk fried chicken will still have a home. Just down the street, you'll find two more new places to sit down for a meal: LoveBird Kitchen resides inside live music hotspot Luthier's Co-op, where they serve up Katsu Burgers, Krab Stick Okonomiyaki, and Grilled Carrot Tacos; at Daily Operation you'll find Blackened Fish Sandwiches, Sichuan Cabbage Salad, and more. And locals New City Brewery got in on the action this year when they added a kitchen to their popular taproom.
Coming to Northampton? Don't miss Wine Witch on Main Street (look for the rainbow crosswalk!) for "sandwitches" or more (Seaweed Bucatini with miso-confit garlic butter, anyone?). At Masa Mexicano in Florence, you'll find the authentic Mexican flavors that come with over three decades of experience. That Al Pastor sandwich on a toasted Bolillo roll will make you want to move here. Looking for a cold one to cool the heat? Nearby Drawing Board Brewing has you covered with Kölsch style brews, lagers, and more. And if vegan fare is more your speed, you'll find Wild Chestnut Cafe ready for you with smoothies, soups, and a TLT sandwich — that's tempeh, lettuce, and tomato.
