Seasons and Climate

Pick a season, any season. You really can’t go wrong.

We enjoy four distinct seasons in Western Massachusetts, which means you can experience something wholly unique every few months! Many of Hampshire County’s events and offerings are seasonal – corn mazes and harvest festivals in the fall, skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, flower shows and maple sugaring in the spring, and music festivals and bike rides in the summer. Come sample all our seasons!

We’ve got warm, breezy springs; hot, sunny summers (but not too hot!); cool, leafy autumns and cold, snowy winters. Annual average temperatures range between 74 to 30 degrees. Visiting us today? Check the weather at the top of all our pages.

The most popular time to visit? Leaf peeping season. The spectacular fall foliage typically peaks in mid-October, depending on the weather. Book your trip early because we get busy when the colors arrive!
