3 Ways to Keep Hampshire County in Your Heart

We miss you, too.

1. Give what you can to support local businesses and organizations that serve our communities.

The best way to be sure your favorite Hampshire County destinations are here to welcome you back is to give what you can and support recovery and relief funds. We’re sharing the programs that directly support our local community, small businesses, and frontline employees. Please consider a donation today.

Amherst Relief and Resiliency Microgrant Program

The Amherst Business Improvement District (BID) and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce have joined together to support Amherst’s small businesses and working community by creating the Relief and Resiliency Microgrant Program. Donate here.

Feed the Frontlines

Feed the Frontlines is a community-funded program that is currently providing lunch and dinner daily for 30 staff members at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, and daily lunch for 20 staff members at CareOne Nursing Home through the end of May, 2020. Over $40,000 has been raised from over 200 individual donors. All donations support the program at participating restaurants in Northampton, Amherst and Holyoke that are providing the meals.  Learn more and donate.

This program was designed in consultation with Cooley Dickinson Hospital and the restaurant community and is a partnership of the Downtown Northampton Association and the Amherst Business Improvement District.  Visit Northampton.live for additional details on area restaurants.

2. Remember the good times, and plan-ahead for more to come.

Remember tasting that amazing pastry from Small Oven in Easthampton last fall? Or when you found that unique item while holiday shopping at Thornes Marketplace in downtown Northampton? Support the small businesses that you love by writing a review and sharing it online! Small, locally owned businesses need your support now more than ever, so share the love with a quick post for your favorite spots.

Watch our Facebook Page for announcements about virtual events from your favorite Hampshire County destinations, and when it’s safe to do so—we will announce the re-opening of Hampshire County's signature events and attractions.

3. Support businesses online.

Many businesses are now accepting online orders and providing curbside pick-up and delivery options. Find the latest updates from your favorite downtown businesses for Northampton on Northampton.live and Amherst here
