Hiking
No peer pressure, but everybody’s doing it. Hiking, that is, in Hampshire County.
That’s because the trails are just that easy to find. Drive ten minutes in any direction to get lost in thought in the woods (not lost in the woods). Whether you’re a novice with a walking stick or a pro with trekking poles, we’ve got trails just right for your speed. These roads were made for rambling, so bring your walking shoes.
Traipse across easygoing hikes at the Chesterfield Gorge or at the Quabbin Reservoir in Ware and Belchertown. Or scale our many peaks, including Mount Tom, Mount Holyoke, and the Seven Sisters. Consider jumping on the New England Scenic Trail (the NET for short) which passes through Western Massachusetts on its way to New Hampshire. And the views? Well, come see for yourself. You might just pitch a tent and never leave.
