Like choosing your favorite child, picking just one town in Hampshire County is impossible (or at least you should never admit to it).

Each and every town and village in Hampshire County is noticeably different, with distinct personalities and traits. You’ll soon be able to tell them apart, even if they look alike at first (because they’re all beautiful, of course). That’s what makes exploring all of our twenty towns so fascinating. Pile in the car and start driving!

These towns were settled before America was even a twinkle in Thomas Jefferson’s eye. They’re rustic, rural, and very historic. Learn about Daniel Shays’ Rebellion and visit the oldest in-use town hall in the nation in Pelham, or hike to see the ruins of the dam that caused the Mill River Flood Disaster in Williamsburg. Take a self-guided tour of the arched railroad bridges in Middlefield. Check out colonial houses in Hadley, and stop by the Hardley Farm Museum to see the early workings of farm and industry in the area.

But our towns and villages are also buzzing with modern energy – which comes mainly from the great people who live in them. Bringing the kids? No sweat. Our towns can entertain the whole family.

What we’re saying is: if you’ve seen one town, you haven’t seen them all. Keep driving.
