It’s hard not to think about wedding possibilities now that the holidays and Valentine’s Day have passed along with all of the successful engagements that come with them. Western Massachusetts has just the right amount of unique and quirky destinations and shops to complete your special day, whether you’re looking for the perfect venue, fun food options, or just some distinctive creative touches. And even if you’re not planning a wedding right now, we think you’ll still find something fun in this roundup.

We’ve got some pretty magical settings.

If your storybook romance deserves a storybook setting, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art couldn’t be a more perfect fit. Situated in an apple orchard overlooking the Holyoke Range, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, offers city elegance in a country setting.

Want to get married on top of a mountain without the hike? The Log Cabin perched on Mt. Tom in Holyoke offers a range of venue options, with its newest Upper Vista outdoor space opening this spring.

If you’re looking for a historic and classic New England setting, look no further than the Lord Jeffery Inn on the Amherst Common where you can expect no less than the royal treatment.

And if you’re more into a downtown scene, getting married at the landmark Hotel Northampton situates you and your guests at the main intersection of one of the top arts towns in the country.

We’re the place for your unique finds whether you’re looking for something old, new, borrowed, or blue!

Eventiques is a new type of flea market where décor from past events finds new life by being reused or repurposed. As a product of the DIY and handmade movement, Eventiques offers carefully selected, used event décor, vintage goods, wedding gowns, unique rentals, and handmade pieces for your wedding or special celebration. Eventiques happens April 11-12 at Eastworks in Easthampton.

Another great place to find all the things you need for your special day is the Atkins Farms Annual Wedding and Event Sampler on March 7. View displays of Atkins’ most popular wedding cakes (and try samples!), catering, wedding flowers, wedding favors, and more from a variety of vendors.

Since your wedding bands are one of the few things from your wedding that find use beyond the special day, they should be pretty unique, right? The annual Don Muller Gallery Bridal Jewelry Trunk Show the weekend of March 21-22 is the perfect place to find unique artistry to signify your union. Artists Sholdt Design, Chris Ploof, Pamela Froman and Ananda Khalsa will be on site with extended wedding band and engagement ring lines.

There’s also plenty of antique and vintage shops to browse year round in Hampshire County in western Mass. Visit one of our newest shops, Luxe Consignment in Northampton as you search to say yes to a dress or if you’re looking for special accessories.

Check out our food trucks and pop-ups for a funky twist on catering.

When you have to secure catering whether you’re getting married in a museum or in a field, you might as well have a little fun with it. The Log Cabin and Delaney House’s mobile catering service, Log Rolling, can set up in any on-site kitchen or bring its fully-loaded food truck along for the ride.

Another fun food option is The Laughing Tomato’s mobile wood-fired pizza oven. You might be familiar with this outfit at the Northampton Tuesday Market or special events at Black Birch Vineyard. While they cater to smaller groups, Laughing Tomato can add the perfect casual vibe to your intimate event.

Want to treat your guests to a unique after dinner coffee service? Western Woods Coffee, a pop-up beverage service but soon-to-be food truck, has been known to do a few weddings and special events.

Please note, this is not meant to be a complete wedding guide to western Massachusetts—just a quick roundup of some of the spaces and places we think are the most unique in our region!
