With Memorial Day weekend behind us, summer is officially almost here! Check out a few quick notes about events happening at breweries and wineries in Hampshire County of western Massachusetts this summer.
Introducing Western Mass Beer Week
This June over 30 breweries, bars and more in western Massachusetts host events celebrating the beer brewed in the region for the first ever Western Mass Beer Week, June 11-18. There are events scheduled every day that week at participating locations including new beer releases, cask events, movie screenings, trivia nights, and more.
Live Music at Breweries and Wineries in Western Mass.
Easthampton’s Fort Hill Brewery hosts live musicians in the brewery most Thursdays and Fridays starting at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 p.m. Brew Practitioners in the heart of Florence hosts a weekly Open Mic night from 7-10 p.m. on Wednesdays and other entertainment is scheduled regularly. Both Black Birch Vineyard and Mineral Hills Winery have a regular schedule of live music on the weekends.
Patio Drinking
Some of the best summer sipping happens outside. When you need an outdoor location other than your own porch or backyard, check out the patios at Northampton Brewery, Amherst Brewing, Brew Practitioners in Florence, and in Easthampton the beer gardens grow at New City Brewery and The Brass Cat. Relax in an adirondack chair at Black Birch or put your feet up by the fire pit at Mineral Hills.
New Festivals
In July look for two new festivals in western Massachusetts: Franklin County on Tap at Berkshire East on July 16 and The Pioneer Valley Beer & Wine Festival at Look Memorial Park on July 30.
