Celebrate American Craft Week in Northampton with the Paradise City Arts Festival

Imagine this....

Cavernous barns are transformed into elegant exhibition halls, remarkable sculptures are installed in beautiful gardens, peaked tents appear, a soundstage goes up and local chefs fire up their grills. 275 exhibiting artists arrive from every corner of the country to showcase the very best in American craft, design, painting and sculpture.

Twice a year Northampton is home to New England’s premier and award-winning showcase for fine and functional art, The Paradise City Arts Festival. This year Paradise City celebrates in 19th season Columbus Day Weekend, October 12-14 at the Three County Fairgrounds and has been named one of the top 10 fairs by AmericanStyle magazine multiple times.

With 275 artists exhibiting original works in ceramics, painting, decorative fiber, art glass, furniture, jewelry, metal, mixed media, photography, sculpture, wearable art and wood—phew—Paradise City is the perfect time to get started on your holiday shopping, or find a treat for yourself!

Grab a $2 coupon off admission here.

Paradise City is an official sponsor of  American Craft Week (October 4-13), bringing together galleries, fairs and fine craft organizations from all fifty states in recognition of the countless ways handmade objects enrich our daily lives and contribute to our national aesthetic and economy.

This fall’s special exhibit, “Hocus Pocus,” celebrates all that is mystical, magical, mysterious and make-believe.  Discover secret compartments, masks, imaginary worlds, trompe-l’oeil, surrealism and fantasy creatures. Then watch Philip Jacobs, in a perfectly choreographed dance with fire, gather glass from a 2100° furnace onto the blowpipe. Be prepared for a truly magical experience!

And if the locals talk about anything other than the amazing art, Paradise City is a haven for fabulous food and world-class music, too. The dining tent always features farm-fresh menus of sensational food prepared by locally renowned chefs. Tap your feet to a different band every day while you take a culinary trip around the world! Roger Salloom Band, New England Swing & Soul Orchestra and the Valley Jazz Divas are the featured performers this year.

There is also a Silent Art Auction that benefits WGBY Public Television for Western New England.
