If you prefer two wheels to four, you’re going to love Hampshire County. It’s just like riding a bike – hard to forget.

We like to keep things green and enjoy the scenery – so biking is a way of life here in Western Massachusetts. Bring your own wheels or rent a bike here. Explore the back roads of our hilltowns for a cycling thrill, or explore our family-friendly rail trail network – historic train tracks that have been paved over to connect Hampshire County by bike trail.

The Manhan Rail Trail extends from downtown Northampton to Easthampton, and will soon reach all the way to New Haven, ConnecticutThe Norwottuck Rail Trail takes you past farmland through Hadley and Amherst to end in Belchertown, and will eventually connect to Boston. And the Northampton Bikeway zips you up to Florence and Leeds.

If you're looking for something a little more off-road, Western Massachusetts hosts plenty of single track. We're also home to an annual world class cyclocross race. And not to brag or anything, but we’ve got some of the country's best cyclocross racers, too.

Whether you’re an old pro or still rocking the training wheels, Hampshire County has a bike route that’s calling your name.
