It's that time of year again when Northampton lights up with Pride and celebrates the diversity our region in western Massachusetts is known for. This year the 34th Annual Noho Pride Day is Saturday, May 2 beginning with the iconic and colorful parade at noon that marches through Downtown Northampton. The parade consists of many diverse organizations, school groups, musicians, local businesses and many other participants. The parade route ends at the historic Three County Fair Grounds where the celebration and entertainment continue til 5 p.m. and over 20,000 people gather for dancing, eating, shopping learning, socializing and enjoying the freedom to celebrate who they are.

1. We're the first! Northampton's Annual Pride Day is the first of the season in New England, happening more than a full month before Boston Pride.

2. There's no shortage of opportunities to dance! Surely you'll dance your way through the parade route and at the Fairgrounds after. But if you're looking to get amped up for Pride, on Friday night there's a free Pre-Pride Community Dance Party at the World War II Club in Northampton from 8 to 11 p.m. If you want the party to keep going on Saturday, check out Diva's Nightclub annual after-Pride party featuring two drag shows and DJs or The Platinum Pony in Easthampton is having an After Party & Queer Music Showcase starting at 8 p.m.

3. Our businesses celebrate Pride with you, too! Whether they're walking in the parade or featuring a special offer, our businesses are happily embrace this celebration of diversity. Hero Men’s Gear, a place for men to shop and shop for men, will be featuring 20% sales all Pride weekend which also happens to coincide with the store's 1st Anniversary!
